Pre-Pharmacy

Program Overview

Within seven years after graduating from high school, you can earn both a Bachelor of Science and a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree. You will spend the first three years at Immaculata taking the required pre-pharmacy courses and will then attend the Jefferson School of Pharmacy (JSP) for the four years of graduate pharmacy coursework.

If you are accepted into the JSP Doctor of Pharmacy program, your credits from the first two semesters at JSP will transfer back to Immaculata (a minimum of 30 credits). All transferred courses must have a grade of C or better.  You will be awarded a B.S. in Allied Health with a concentration in Pre-pharmacy, and you’ll continue your coursework in the JSP program to receive a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.

Admission Requirements:

To be admitted into the Pre-pharmacy concentration, you must have completed a rigorous high school curriculum including:

  • Meeting all Immaculata admission requirements
  • SAT Math score of 550 or higher
  • IU Mathematics Placement Tests scores (or the equivalent) sufficient to place you in MATH 207-208

For acceptance into the JSP Pharm.D. program, you must interview with the IU taskforce, obtain their recommendation to JSP, and meet all JSP admission requirements, including competitive Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) scores.
