Writing assistance is available to all Immaculata University students

The Writing Center at Immaculata University is founded on the belief that all writers can benefit from talking about their writing. The Center’s trained staff act as thoughtful, inquisitive readers who engage in collaborative dialogue with writers from across the disciplines and at any stage of the writing process. At the heart of our mission is a commitment to helping students develop the skills to be confident, well-informed writers through individualized one-on-one writing support in a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The Writing Center supports seasoned and developing writers alike on both immediate and long-term writing goals. We aim to empower our community of writers to experiment and take risks as they work to develop clear and cogent communication, with the understanding that honing one’s craft of writing is a lifelong journey. In alignment with Immaculata’s values that emphasize scholarship, dialogue, the search for truth, and formation of the whole person, the Writing Center’s dedication to service, respect, and inclusivity demonstrates our commitment to social justice in the university and beyond.

The Writing Center offers one-on-one writing sessions for undergraduate and graduate students in all programs. Scheduling is conveniently available online, and writing assistance is available through either face-to-face, synchronous online, or asynchronous remote sessions. We also provide resources to help students with APA, MLA, and Chicago style formatting.

Writing Partnerships pair a student and Writing Assistant who work together on a regular basis over the course of a semester. Writing Partnerships, available to both undergraduate and graduate students, allow you to work towards larger writing goals and become a more confident writer over time.

In-class, out-of-class, and online workshops on topics such as APA, Literature Reviews, and Personal Statements.

Targeted writing support for graduate students, including Dissertation Writing Sessions—a personal, individualized process between a Professional Writing Assistant and the dissertation student.
