Exercise Science Department

 
Students enrolled in the the Exercise Science major will receive an interdisciplinary educational experience as they progress to earning a bachelor of science in Exercise Science.  Within the Exercise Science major, students choose one track of study for the focus of their academic experience.  The tracks within the Exercise Science major include:

  • Movement Science (New for Fall 2010)
  • Sport Management
  • Pre-Physical Therapy
  • Pre-Occupation Therapy
  • Physical Therapy DPT Program with Thomas Jefferson University
  • Occupational Therapy MSOT Program with Thomas Jefferson University

 

 
 

Physical Education Requirements

 
For graduation, all students in the College of Undergraduate Studies are required to successfully complete 2 credits at the EXS 100 level and to earn two physical education activity units. These activity units may be selected from areas of lifetime sports and activities, dance, and intercollegiate sports. Students with permanent medical excuses must complete only Personal Fitness & Wellness.
 
• Students may earn one of the two required physical education units through participation on Immaculata’s intercollegiate teams.
 
• Students not enrolled in the College of Undergraduate Studies pay a fee per unit (plus any additional fees) for elective physical education courses.
 
* Exercise Science majors are required to take Introduction to Exercise Science and Fitness (EXS 201) instead of an EXS 100 level course.
