Nursing Program Requirements

Since admission to the Nursing Program is competitive, meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to the program.

1. High school transcript indicating GPA ≥ 3.0 with selected courses to include English, three math including algebra, one social studies, three sciences, two with a lab of which one must be chemistry.
2. SAT scores. Recommended 1400 total on all three areas of the SAT or equivalent ACT. If test scores are more than 5 years old, an entrance test will be required.
3. Two letters of recommendation. Letters should be from teacher(s), counselor, employer(s), coach(es) etc.
4. Essay on why you would like to pursue a career in nursing

Application Deadline: December 15. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a space available basis only.

New nursing students may only start in the fall term.

Thomas Jefferson University Partnership Programs

Graduation from an accredited high school or the equivalent
Cumulative High School GPA of 3.2 or higher
Completion with satisfactory grades of 16 units of high school work (as shown on an official high school transcript) including the following minimum number of college preparatory courses:
The electives may be chosen from any major subjects accepted for graduation in an accredited high school
SAT scores of 1650 or higher combining scores from Math, Critical Reading and Writing or have the equivalent on the ACT

Volunteer/Observation Hours (OT and PT applicants should have 25 hours complete at the time of application).
